Rumors are swirling about an Animal Kingdom overhaul and a Magic Kingdom expansion, but here are a few reasons we’d like to nominate Epcot as the park in the most dire need of some pixie dust.
Divergence from Walt Disney’s Vision
Walt Disney envisioned Epcot as a dynamic, evolving city for technological advancements. Instead, it’s a theme park with static exhibits and aging attractions stuck in a bygone era. Let’s face facts: Attractions like Spaceship Earth and Living with the Land feel anything but cutting-edge.
Mismatch Between World Showcase and Future World
Epcot is split into Future World and World Showcase. Future World celebrates innovation, World Showcase offers a superficial cultural tour of eleven (random) countries, and there is no connection between them.
Lackluster Recent Additions
We have four words for you: CommuniCore Hall and Plaza. After years of construction and anticipation, Disney revealed this grossly underwhelming space that Google users seem to enjoy roasting. And while Journey of Water Inspired by Moana is cute and fits the Epcot education ethos, Moana deserves more than a walk-through experience.
The Dining and (Excessive) Drinking
Why anyone would want to spend a day drinking overpriced, sugar-laden drinks while walking miles in the Florida heat is beyond comprehension. And the food? Many (most?) might disagree but honestly, it’s all pretty bad.
