Astro Orbiter is a spinner ride (rotating around a central anchor in a vehicle, in this case a 2-person rocket ship) perched atop the People Mover attraction some 50 feet in the air. It is twice as fast as its spinner counterparts: Dumbo the Flying Elephant and Magic Carpets of Aladdin.

Astro Orbiter Tips

  • Scary Factor: Astro Orbiter is not traditionally scary, but its elevated height and moderate speed may be intimidating for those afraid of heights or fast motion.
  • Speed: Faster than other Disney spinner rides like Dumbo, but not excessively fast. The sense of speed is enhanced by its high elevation.
  • Ride Duration: Approximately 1.5 to 2 minutes, offering a quick yet thrilling 'flight' above Tomorrowland.
  • Drops: No drops. Riders can control their rocket's altitude for smooth, gradual movements.
  • Pregnancy Advisory: Safe for pregnant guests, as it features moderate spinning motion with no sharp turns or drops.
  • Accessibility: Guests in wheelchairs or ECVs must transfer to the ride car, with ECV users possibly needing a manual wheelchair due to space constraints. Boarding involves stepping over a high side and down into a very low, ground-level car.
  • Sensory Advisory: Features fast circular motion, wind in the face, and flashing lights at night. May not be suitable for children with a fear of heights.
  • Plus-Size Friendly: Rocket-shaped vehicles have limited legroom and a snug fit, which may feel restrictive for taller or plus-size guests.
  • Best Age Group: Great for children who enjoy piloting their own rocket and for families seeking a mild yet adventurous ride.
